The awards celebrate the best of the county’s businesses and the La Vie Team couldn’t be happier or more delighted to be shortlisted.
Director and Spa Consultant at La Vie spa, Verna Haywood, said she was ‘surprised and delighted’ when she opened her email from the judges.
She said: “Firstly I was surprised, then joyful, amazed, hopeful, delighted and speechless! But most importantly, I felt very proud of my achievements.
“At La Vie spa we always endeavour to go the extra mile for our clients and tailor every treatment we do to the individual’s needs.
“We want our clients to leave feeling relaxed, revived and rejuvenated.”
She added: “We put our heart and soul into everything we do and to get this recognition is just wonderful – it’s fantastic news.”
All the finalists went through a three-stage judging process including looking at the entries and their digital activities, mystery shopper-style visits and then a decision was taken by an independent panel of judges.
There were 123 entries for the Dorset awards, sponsored by Saffery Champness, and a total of 644 across the South West area. This year the judges carried out a record 90 visits to businesses, often as mystery visitors.
The judges said they were looking for “evidence not just of ‘good’ but of ‘excellent’.” And added that being a finalist was a “very significant achievement indeed.”
The 2017 Dorset Tourism Awards evening will be held on Thursday, November 16, from 6.30pm at the Lighthouse in Poole and will be a black-tie dinner. All finalists will receive either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award on the night.
