FOR many, the idea of a spa conjures up a predominately female environment, but that idea is changing.
Think of a spa and you probably think of words like ‘pampering,’ possibly a mani-pedi in a pink treatment room? But the truth is at its core, the spa experience is about relaxation and stress relief – a concept both men and women can get on board with. According to research by the International Spa Association, nearly half of spa goers in the US are male (47 per cent.) And what’s the number one reason men and women go to a spa? Stress management.
ISPA President, Lynne McNees, said: “As a global society, we are experiencing more stress than ever before and seeking alternative ways to cope. Visiting a spa gives you permission to pause.”
