Last night’s black-tie event at the Lighthouse Poole saw businesses from across the region shortlisted for the 25 categories, with La Vie spa being awarded a silver award in the Spa and Wellbeing Experience of the Year category.
It was a wonderful evening and there were lots of cheers and hugs when the judges’ decision was announced. The judges called La Vie a “superb wellbeing experience.”
Director and Spa Consultant at La Vie spa, Verna Haywood, said she was ‘filled with joy and pride.’
She said: “It’s just wonderful, I’m shocked and so happy. This award is recognition of how hard myself and the La Vie Team have been working to create a great experience for our clients
“We pride ourselves on always creating bespoke treatments for each of our clients, and tailoring everything we do to help with the individual’s needs. We are constantly investing in training and new techniques to ensure we can offer state-of-the-art beauty and wellness therapies in the heart of Dorset.
“Recent investments include the pioneering Elemis Biotec facial system and our Elemis skin care masterclass events, which have proven to be very popular with customers. We put our heart and soul into everything we do, so to receive this award is just wonderful.
“We would like to thank all our clients for their support over the years and everyone at the Dorset Tourism Awards for a great evening.”
This year’s Dorset Tourism Awards saw more entries than ever before, meaning that judging was closer than ever.
In total, there were 123 entries for the awards, sponsored by Saffery Champness. All the entrants went through a three-stage judging process including looking at the entries and their digital activities, mystery shopper-style visits and then a decision was taken by an independent panel of judges. This year the judges carried out a record 90 visits to businesses, often as mystery visitors. All finalists received either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award on the night.
